# Rate Limits

This page sets frontmatter `mode: wide` - it drops the right-hand table of contents and widens the article slightly, useful for a page whose main content (the table below) benefits from the extra horizontal room.

Every response includes three headers reporting your current rate-limit status:

| Header | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `X-RateLimit-Limit` | The total number of requests allowed in the current window |
| `X-RateLimit-Remaining` | Requests left before the next reset |
| `X-RateLimit-Reset` | Unix timestamp (seconds) when the window resets |

## Limits by tier

| Tier | Requests / minute | Burst capacity | Concurrent connections |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 60 | 10 | 2 |
| Pro | 600 | 50 | 10 |
| Enterprise | 6,000 | 200 | 50 |

<Callout type="warning">
  Exceeding your limit returns `429 Too Many Requests` with a `Retry-After` header (seconds). Respect it - repeatedly retrying before it elapses can trigger a temporary, stricter penalty on top of the normal limit.
</Callout>

See [Introduction](/docs/core/2026-01/guides/introduction/#the-math-behind-rate-limiting) for the token-bucket formula these limits are based on.
